Preferences are here!

The latest SkipScreen has that lovely Preferences button under Tools > Addons > SkipScreen. Click it, and you get a simple menu that lets you turn SkipScreen on and off for individual sites.

You can even turn off the “ShareScreen”, the page SkipScreen shows you after each download. Plus, since the diggbar-skipper was causing confusion and annoyance to some users, we’ve disabled it by default in the current version. Last but not least, there’s a fix for an auto-reload issue on DepositFiles.

This is a huge improvement. I’d say it addresses–directly or indirectly–about 90% of peoples’ issues with SkipScreen so far. And there’s a lot more we’d like to do with it. A “listen first” option for sites like zShare DivShare, for example, would be a great addition for people who download a lot of music.

We hope this makes your screen-skipping experience more satisfying. Seems like now the main priority is adding a ton more sites, right? Weigh in on your top picks.

  5. I still don’t see the preference button. I’m running on XP and it doesn’t even show up.

To find the preferences (on XP too) Go to Tools > Addons, click on the “Extensions” tab, and then find Skipscreen in the list of extensions.

Click on Skipscreen, and there should be a “Preferences” button.

  6. Whatever, megaupload skip blockink my IP for more than one simultaneus download.

Ohhh… that’s a good point. Once we have captcha support we can do auto-reloads for megaupload like we do for rapidshare. That way, even though you can’t download simultaneously, you can open up a ton of tabs and they’ll all download eventually.

  7. Nice work. Skipscreen is a favourite of mine, and it’s nice to see it’s constantly improving.

  8. There’s this problem, where the download stops automatically due to the problems with the connection, then the download needs to be paused and started again to continue with the download… can u people do something about this, so that this be sorted out automatically…..
